The Wedding of James & Emma

After what felt like years of chatting to Emma over WhatsApp, with just four weeks to go before the big day the unthinkable happened — she realised she’d booked me for the wrong date! 😱 Luckily, I was still free (thankfully!) because after all those conversations, I’d have been gutted not to capture their wedding.

Crisis averted, let’s talk about the day itself…

Emma spent the morning getting ready in the cottages over at the spa, while James and the lads were busy getting suited up in the main hotel rooms. A short ride later — courtesy of the Crow Wood’s very own Rolls Royce (not a bad perk at all!) — Emma arrived, glowing and ready to say “I do.”

The ceremony took place in the Lake Suite, one of my absolute favourites at Crow Wood. It’s always such a beautiful space, filled with heaps of natural light that makes every moment look incredible.

We managed to dodge the drizzle long enough to get the family group shots in and get the confetti in , (View my guide on what confetti to use for a wedding) before sneaking away for some quick couple portraits just as the rain came back around.

After a feast from the fantastic Crow Wood kitchen, things took a more colourful turn — smoke bombs!(Here is a smoke bomb guide for weddings!) Let’s just say they weren’t the easiest to wrangle, but they were so worth it. By pure chance, the skies opened up with the most stunning light, giving us that dreamy golden backdrop with the venue behind them.
