The Priest’s House at Barden Tower sits within the Bolton Abbey estate in Wharfedale, beside the ruined medieval tower. The complex was developed for Henry Clifford, the “Shepherd Lord,” between 1485 and 1490, with the Priest’s House completed in the early 1500s (often dated to 1513) to serve his household and chaplain. Lady Anne Clifford restored the buildings after the Civil War in 1659; the site later declined during the eighteenth century. In recent decades the Priest’s House has been sensitively revived as a restaurant and intimate wedding venue, pairing centuries-old stonework with Dales scenery and the historic adjoining chapel.
Nestled beside Bolton Abbey and encased within the romantic ruins of Barden Tower, The Priest’s House is one of Skipton’s most unique wedding venues. With breathtaking countryside views and a historic ceremony room full of character, it’s the perfect backdrop for couples dreaming of a magical Yorkshire wedding.

Surrounded by rolling hills and endless countryside, you’ll never be short of picture-perfect spots for your wedding photographs.
