James & Vicky’s Intimate Day at Danby Castle

James and Vicky tied the knot at the stunning Danby Castle in North Yorkshire, and what a day it was. As a Danby Castle wedding photographer, I can honestly say this venue never disappoints – the history, the scenery, and the atmosphere all combine to create something truly special. Their whole wedding had such a warm, relaxed vibe, making everyone feel instantly at ease.

The bridesmaids looked incredible in burnt orange dresses, a perfect autumnal touch that tied in beautifully with the castle surroundings. Adding an extra layer of meaning to the day, Vicky lovingly crafted all of the flowers and décor by hand – from bouquets to the venue styling – and the result was nothing short of gorgeous.

We also had some fun with colourful smoke bombs ([check out my smoke bomb wedding photo guide here]), which added energy and a pop of colour to their portraits. It was the perfect way to capture James and Vicky’s fun-loving spirit.

The day was captured on film too by the brilliant Oliver Reeve Films, whose cinematic style always blends perfectly with a documentary approach to wedding photography.

It was an intimate North Yorkshire wedding filled with love, laughter, and all the little moments that make a wedding day feel authentic. From the handmade details to the relaxed atmosphere, James and Vicky’s celebration at Danby Castle was a joy to photograph.
