Kelly & Mike’s Styal Lodge Wedding

Carnage. Chaos. And absolutely nothing but fun.

Kelly and Mike’s wedding at Styal Lodge was an action-packed, non-stop, full-throttle day of entertainment from start to finish. The kind of wedding where you blink and suddenly there is a sax, percussion, a DJ, a packed dance floor and someone absolutely sending it.

The morning

Kelly got ready on site with her bridesmaids, all of them in full-length black — a proper choice, and one that looks fantastic against white bouquets and a room made of pale wood. Her dress is sleek and fitted with a long train, and the flowers were white roses and eucalyptus throughout.

Mike and his lads were in black tuxedos, lined up outside the lodge looking far too pleased with themselves.

The ceremony

They married inside, in a room with a high pitched wooden ceiling, soft drapes down the walls and greenery along the aisle. It is a bright, calm space, and it does something useful for a wedding this loud: the ceremony feels like the still bit before everything takes off.

Then the confetti

And that is where it takes off. One of the best confetti runs I have photographed this year — guests packed down both sides, arms up, a blizzard of white petals and the pair of them walking straight through the middle of it laughing.

A whole afternoon of it

Group photographs, drinks outside in the sun, and a set of couple portraits in the gardens as the light went warm. Kelly changed into a white Mrs Needham jumper for those, which is exactly the right amount of not taking it too seriously.

Special mention to Laura the Coordinator, who ran the whole day like a well-oiled machine — keeping all the madness moving perfectly while making it look effortless.

And then the evening

What a soundtrack. Tasha Bennett absolutely smashed it, and then the evening kicked off into another gear with DJ, bongos and sax from Dusk7. An absolute weapon of a combination, and exactly what this crowd needed.

Light-up letters spelling MR & MRS NEEDHAM behind the first dance, a photo booth going all night, and a dance floor that did not empty once. Sunglasses indoors. People on shoulders. The lot.

Huge love to the team at Styal Lodge too — the venue put on a proper show and was the perfect backdrop for a wedding this wild.
