Adam & Katie at Woodlands Hotel

Pizza Hut, then Tinder

Adam and Katie had already met at Pizza Hut before they ever matched on Tinder — they just
did not know it at the time. Five years on from working that one out, they were stood in front of
everyone at Woodlands Hotel doing it properly.

The morning

Katie got ready on site with her girls, which is one of the quiet luxuries of Woodlands — no
convoy across Leeds, no watching the clock. Just a slow morning, a drink in hand, hair and makeup
happening around her, and everyone in the same building.

The boys in black

Adam turned up with one of the best-dressed wedding parties I have photographed. The lads all in
black tuxedos, Adam in white so you could pick him out of a crowd at fifty paces. They knew exactly
what they were doing, and they gave me plenty to work with all day.

Confetti and the gardens

The confetti line outside the main building is always a good one at Woodlands, and this lot went
for it. Afterwards we took the gardens and the terrace steps for portraits — ten minutes here,
ten minutes there, nothing that pulled them away from their own party for long.

Bantams through and through

Both Bradford City fans, and it was never going to stay quiet. A Bantams shirt appeared later in
the night and got exactly the reception you would expect from a room full of people who had been
waiting for it.

The shots

Then the pair of them came out and handed round a tray of shots for everyone. Nobody had been
told, which is why it worked. That is the sort of thing that turns a good evening into the one
people are still talking about, and it is why the last hour of this gallery is my favourite part
of it.
