The Oakwood at Ryther, set in the lush countryside near Tadcaster and just a short drive from Leeds, is a stunning new barn wedding venue overflowing with rustic charm and contemporary elegance. From the romantic Oak Ceremony Room with its oak arches and York stone flooring, to acres of manicured gardens, soft grass walkways, and fabulous bridal prep suites, it’s a true all-in-one venue.

Weddings here flow seamlessly from indoors to outdoors. After saying “I do” in the Ceremony Hall (which seats up to 160 guests), couples and their guests can enjoy fizz and canapés in the Courtyard before moving on to The Old Grain Store for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations. This beautifully converted barn, with its exposed brickwork, wooden beams, draped fabric, and chandeliers, feels warm, atmospheric, and ready for a party. A grand central staircase provides a show-stopping newlywed entrance and even leads to a cosy upstairs chill-out zone for quieter moments.

With on-site accommodation for guests, convenience is another big tick on the list. When I visited, I was truly spoiled for choice — every corner has character and photo potential. From the pergolas and flowerbeds to the Courtyard, The Oakwood at Ryther is a photographer’s playground and a couple’s dream venue.

Nestled beside Bolton Abbey and encased within the romantic ruins of Barden Tower, The Priest’s House is one of Skipton’s most unique wedding venues. Originally built to house priests (hence the name), the venue blends centuries of history with modern comforts. Tucked just a stone’s throw from Ogden and next to the well-loved Moorlands Inn, it offers a brilliant mix of rustic charm and flexibility. The Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey -Skipton

The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey in skipton is, without doubt, the grandest barn wedding venue in Yorkshire. Its vast, light-filled space needs very little decoration, as it already shines with character and charm – carrying you seamlessly from ceremony to party. Overlooking the breath-taking ruins of Bolton Abbey, it’s a venue that captures the very essence of Yorkshire.

It’s also incredibly close to my heart – I chose the Tithe Barn for my own wedding, so it will always be a special place for me. And if there’s one thing it excels at (beyond the stunning setting), it’s the food. Honestly, it’s the best wedding food I’ve ever experienced at any venue.

The Bowers Mill in Ripponden has to be my most popular wedding venue – I’ve photographed weddings here over 30 times, and it never loses its charm.
