Holdsworth House, located in Halifax, is one of my favourite local wedding venues – just around the corner from me. Known for its beautiful gardens and rich history, it’s also been featured in several TV shows, including the popular Happy Valley (a fun detail for fans!). The Oakwood at Ryther, set in the lush countryside near Tadcaster and just a short drive from Leeds, is a stunning new barn wedding venue overflowing with rustic charm and contemporary elegance. From my experience photographing Halifax weddings, The Moorlands Halifax is one of those venues that just feels right the moment you arrive. Tucked just a stone’s throw from Ogden and next to the well-loved Moorlands Inn, it offers a brilliant mix of rustic charm and flexibility. The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey in skipton is, without doubt, the grandest barn wedding venue in Yorkshire. Its vast, light-filled space needs very little decoration, as it already shines with character and charm – carrying you seamlessly from ceremony to party. Overlooking the breath-taking ruins of Bolton Abbey, it’s a venue that captures the very essence of Yorkshire.
It’s also incredibly close to my heart – I chose the Tithe Barn for my own wedding, so it will always be a special place for me. And if there’s one thing it excels at (beyond the stunning setting), it’s the food. Honestly, it’s the best wedding food I’ve ever experienced at any venue.
